Carcross, the Yukon Territory - June 2009

It doesn't look like much now, but during WWII Carcross was thriving. Playing an important role in the construction of the Alaskan Highway, it allowed the US Army to access the interior of the Yukon Territory. During its peak up to 25 trains a day would pass through here.
