Tok Alaska - June 2009

Tok Alaska, not much here, just a wide spot in the road. Labeled as, "The "Gateway to Alaska", Tok sits at the crossroads for travelers heading north to Fairbanks or southwest to Anchorage, Tok is the first community inside the U.S. border along the famous Alaska Highway.. I believe it was also a way point during the construction of the Alaskan highway.Because of the permafrost, the water was SO COLD here in early June that it hurt my teeth when I brushed them. No kidding! Food in the restaurant of the Westmark was good, I had the fajitas. Luckily, it was too cold for the state bird of Alaska!
